Who We Are

EARTH Lit (Ecoliteracies for Accountability Responsibility Together with Heart) is an innovative platform for environmental educators in traditional and nontraditional education settings. Our community fosters an inquiry based learning approach rooted in the exploration of stories to makes sense of environmental issues. In the stories we share and tell we take an intersectional approach in which we value and examine the many facets of our identities that influence our relationship to the planet and people within it.

As we explore environmental stories, we invite conversations of critique (what are the issues?), hope (where are their opportunities for change?), and action (what’s in my power to change?).

All resources and services promote an interdisciplinary, student centered approach to intersectional environmental justice.  We aim to empower educators through literacies and storytelling to include environmentalism in their teaching and make our world a more hospitable and just place for people and planet now and in the future.

We look forward to you joining our EARTH Lit Community!
